Two Minutes

Got a minute? How about two? With daylight savings just around the corner, you'll have an extra 60! (Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour before going to bed Saturday night!) The American Dental Association recommends brushing your teeth twice a day for two minutes, which greatly reduces your risk for tooth decay.

The Children's Oral Health campaign has a YouTube channel dedicated to two minute videos for kids to watch while brushing their teeth, but what about adults? Here are some things that might distract you long enough to brush for two minutes.
  • Delete/toss junk mail
  • Listen to your favorite song
  • Plan your day
  • Review your day
  • Focus on a goal you have (or set one!)
  • Read a magazine article (or half an article - you can finish the other half...well, later in your bathroom/morning routine)
  • Memorize a favorite quote
  • Think of compliments you can give for the day
If all else fails, watch your own YouTube video. Just be sure not to watch anything so funny you spray toothpaste!
